Layercast

Privacy Policy

Effective October 26, 2026

Layercast tells you what to wear for your day, based on the forecast. It works without an account, has no ads, and does not track you across other apps or websites.

What stays on your phone

Your routine (when you leave and come home, how you get around), your comfort setting, your evening check-ins and your closet stay on your iPhone unless you choose to sign in and back them up.

Your location and the forecast

To get a forecast, Layercast sends the latitude and longitude of the place you set, or your current location if you allow it, to Apple Weather. Apple uses it to return the forecast. We do not store your location on our servers. You can type a place instead of sharing your location, and you can turn location access off at any time in iOS Settings.

Optional sign-in and closet backup

If you sign in (with Apple or with an email address), we create an account with Google Firebase so your closet can follow you to a new phone. When you are signed in, we store:

Only you can read this data. It is used to run the app and for nothing else.

Purchases

Apple handles payment. We use RevenueCat to check whether you have Premium. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app ID (or your account ID, if you signed in) and your purchase history from Apple. It never receives your card details.

What we do not do

Deleting your data

In the app, open the You tab and tap Delete account. This erases your account, your backed-up closet and your photos from our servers within a minute. To clear what is on your phone, tap Erase everything on the same tab, or delete the app.

Children

Layercast is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top and note the change in the app's release notes.
